Meet our Founder
MB Hepburn
MB Hepburn is the visionary behind Empowering Communities Inc., a nonprofit organization she launched in January 2025 out of a deep calling to create lasting change in under served communities. With more than a decade of hands-on experience in education, community outreach, and public service, MB has dedicated her life to empowering youth, supporting families, advocating for the unsheltered, and uplifting our elderly population. Her commitment to service is rooted in faith and compassion. As a commissioned Chaplain in Pinellas County, Florida, MB brings a unique blend of spiritual care and practical leadership to every initiative she leads. Under her guidance, Empowering Communities Inc. has already made a powerful impact hosting a Community Resource Fair and the Early Education Kids Learning Expo, events designed to provide real, accessible resources to those who need them most. MB is passionate about forging strong partnerships with local businesses and community leaders to build sustainable support networks. When she’s not working or serving, you can find her spending time with her family, doting on her fur babies, or actively involved in her local church.
Her mission is simple but powerful: to serve, to strengthen, and to empower communities one connection at a time.

Hepburn Scholarship, dedicated to supporting high school seniors in Pinellas County, Florida, who aspire to make a difference in education, theater, or business. This need-based scholarship honors the legacy of Reuben C. Hepburn by providing financial assistance to students committed to their future careers.
Requirements
- Minimum 2.00 GPA
- Resident of Pinellas County, Florida
- High school senior from a public school in Pinellas County, Florida
- Pursuing a career in education, theater, or business
- Demonstrate financial need
